1. Introduction
Hijrah Nikah (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a Shariah-first matrimonial platform designed for serious Muslims seeking a halal path to marriage. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the Hijrah Nikah mobile application (“App”), website at hijrahnikah.com, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using our Services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: Email address, password (hashed), and any authentication details.
- Profile Information: Full name, age/date of birth, gender, marital status, nationality, ethnicity, country and city of residence, height, religious practice details (madhab, prayer habits, hijab/niqab preference, beard), education, profession, languages spoken, and a personal bio.
- Wali Information: Name and contact details of your Islamic guardian (wali), voluntarily provided for our wali-oversight feature.
- Profile Photos: Photos you upload for your profile. These are stored securely and reviewed by our admin team.
- Communications: Messages sent through our in-app messaging system, including text and any media shared in monitored group chats.
- Subscription & Payment Information: Subscription status, purchase history, and entitlement data managed via RevenueCat. We do not store raw payment card data; transactions are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store.
- Support Requests: Information you provide when contacting our support team.
- Feedback & Reports: Any feedback, reports of other users, or content flagging you submit.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Pages and screens viewed, features used, search queries within the App, time spent on screens, and actions taken.
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, referring/exit URLs, crash reports, and performance data.
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens used to send you notifications about matches, messages, and account status updates.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement status from the RevenueCat SDK integrated in our App.
- Google Play / Apple App Store: Purchase verification data.
- Analytics Providers: Aggregated usage analytics to help us improve the App.
3. Camera, Microphone & Device Permissions
The Hijrah Nikah App requests certain device permissions to enable core features. We only request permissions that are necessary for specific features:
- Camera: Used to take profile photos or upload a profile picture directly within the App. Camera access is only activated when you explicitly choose to take a photo. We do not access your camera in the background, and we do not stream, record, or transmit live camera footage to our servers.
- Photo Library / Media Storage: Used to select existing photos from your device for your profile. We only access the specific images you select; we do not scan or access your full photo library without your action.
- Microphone: May be requested if audio/video calling features are enabled. Microphone access is only active during an active call session initiated by you.
- Notifications: Used to send you alerts about new messages, interest requests, admin review outcomes, and subscription status. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Location (Optional): If you choose to display your city or country on your profile, this is entered manually. We do not require or automatically collect precise GPS location data.
Note: You can revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device's settings (iOS: Settings → Hijrah Nikah; Android: Settings → Apps → Hijrah Nikah → Permissions). Revoking a permission will disable the corresponding feature but will not affect your account.
